Hosting News:
- We'd like to inform you that the server that your account is hosted
on suffered downtime earlier today due to a switch supply failure in
our Fremont Datacenter. The abrupt breakdown resulted in the server's
going offline for approximately one hour (starting at around 03.00
PST).
The server downtime problem caused the non-availability of your web
hosting control panel and web sites online. The issue was dealt with
as quickly as possible and the server has been successfully returned
to its normal functionality.
We'd like to apologize on behalf of our datacenter's administrators
for any inconvenience that this unexpected issue may have caused and
to assure you that no data have been lost.
Supremecenter 20 Hard Drive Issue
- We'd like to inform you that one of our servers – SupremeCenter20 -
suffered a hard disc failure, which resulted in the 3-hour-and-a-half
downtime of customer accounts and web sites earlier today (between
09:30-01.00 PST). Our team of administrators got mobilized to deal with
the unexpected issue in a way that no data would be lost.
In consequence of their efforts, now the server is back to its normal mode
and the online availability of your accounts and web sites has been
restored.
To ensure the proper functionality of the server from now on, our
administrators are planning to replace the damaged two out of four server
hard discs that will possibly slow down the server work within several
10-minute periods. We’ll keep you updated on any news in the matter.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this unpredicted
issue might have caused. We are doing our utmost to prevent it from
occurring again.
Scheduled Maintenance of
several servers
- Further to the previous announcements about our server maintenance
campaign, we'd like to direct your attention to the upcoming downtime
of five of our network’s servers. Those servers are SupremeCenter5,
SupremeCenter6, SupremeCenter8, SupremeCenter10, SupremeCenter18 and
their maintenance is scheduled for tomorrow, April 18, 2007, starting
at 10 pm PST.
Each server will be relocated to a new rack and attached to a better
UPS generator within 30 minutes approximately. This action is aimed at
optimizing the servers power supply, thus ensuring that no further
downtimes will be suffered due to power supply breakdowns.
We realize that our maintenance campaign which is already well
underway may cause inconvenience to your online business. However,
we’d like to assure you that our actions are solely intended for
scaling up our server performance and hence service quality.
Additional information about the next servers scheduled for
maintenance will be provided in details.
Hard Drive Failure on
Friday 13
- Regretfully, we have to inform you that SupremeCenter18 is currently
experiencing hardware problems with its two RAID1 hard drives. All web sites
on the server are operational, but no updates can be made. E-mails cannot be
received as well. Both hard drives are not capable of storing any new data
and will be replaced.
This requires us to perform a full re-installation and restore the data from
the current hard drives. The restoration procedure will take from 10 to 18
hours. We are doing our best to make sure that this process runs as smoothly
and quickly as possible.
We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this problem might
cause. We can surely blame Friday 13 for that! Thank you for your
understanding.
New Quad Core server added -
SupremeCenter48 is online
- It is our pleasure to inform you that a new server will be added today to
our rapidly expanding network of servers. SupremeCenter48 has the latest
contemporary hardware specifications:
# Intel Xeon E5335 2.0 GHz (4 cores total, 8 GHz total)
# 4 GB of RAM
# 4x400 GB SATA in RAID10 configuration (for customer files - total 800 GB)
# 2x160 GB SATA in RAID1 configuration (for system and logs usage)
Scheduled Maintenance of several
servers
- The following servers will be moved today: SupremeCenter9,
SupremeCenter11, SupremeCenter16, SupremeCenter13, SupremeCenter24,
SupremeCenter15 and SupremeCenter12. During the next days, we will
continue to move other servers as well. You will be informed in detail.
The estimated downtime of each server will be no more than 30 minutes,
which will be enough for us to physically locate the server in a new rack
and to attach it to a better UPS generator. UPS stands for uninterruptible
power supply and will guarantee no further downtimes of the web server due
to power supply failures.
We would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused and to assure you
that our actions are always focused on increasing the quality of the
service.
Scheduled Maintenance of several
servers
- Dear Customers,
We would like to announce that on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, there will be a
scheduled downtime of the web server your websites are hosted on. The
estimated downtime will be no more than 30 minutes, which will be enough for
us to physically locate the server in a new rack and to attach it to a
better UPS generator. UPS, which stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply, is
a device that will guarantee no future downtimes. We would like to apologize
for the inconvenience caused and to assure you that our actions are always
focused on increasing the quality of the service.
Recent Service Problems
- During the past two days you may have noticed some issue that occurred
after a recent change in the way our web hosting platform works. The
affected services were mainly SiteStudio and FrontPage Extensions support.
Some other services may have been affected as well though. We have solved
most of these problems as we usually follow all service reports and
monitor the servers 24/7 to take immediate actions if required.
We had to make some small service upgrades and system adjustments after we
officially introduced PHP 5 around our network of servers. Some minor
issues may arise within the next few days. If you notice any problems with
your web hosting account, please report them to us and we will help you
right away.
We appreciate your understanding and your patience.
New section PHP Settings has been
introduced!
- A new section has been introduced in the Control Panel, which allows you
to easily manage the way your PHP-based applications are handled and run
by the web server. You can choose whether PHP 4 or PHP 5 to use by
default. PHP 5 is now officially supported on all servers.
There are several differences in the configuration and in the way certain
functions and expressions are handled. PHP 4 has a larger installed base
at this point, but since PHP is a server side script, it will hardly
affect the end user. PHP 5 is simply a newer release, which offers its own
improvements and add-ons. However, there might be some incompatibility
issues when certain applications are run on both versions. You should use
PHP 5 only if it is required by the script author.
